Former Boston Mayor Tom Menino is reportedly recovering in the hospital, according to the Boston Globe.
The Globe reports Menino, 71, was admitted to the hospital Thursday for dehydration.
His spokeswoman, Dot Joyce, released a statement later on Tuesday:
"Mayor Menino is doing well. He experienced some side-effects as a result of a new treatment given to him prior to his book tour. He is responding well to treatment of those side effects and will hopefully be back talking about his new book, Mayor for a New America, soon. Mayor Menino wants to thank everyone for all of the generous support and kindness."
Menino was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
