Kazakhstan authorities have requested that Dias Kadyrbayev, a friend of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev who pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice in the marathon bombing investigation, be transferred to a federal prison in New Jersey.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in New York has made the request to move Kadyrbayev to Fort Dix.
The transfer, the deputy consul general says, would make regular visits from the consulate's staff to Kadyrbayev more convenient.
