Worker Pinned by 600-Pound Concrete Slab Airlifted to Hospital

The victim's condition is unknown

Police in Stoughton, Massachusetts, say a person was airlifted to a hospital Tuesday morning after being pinned by a 600-pound concrete slab.

Stoughton Fire said the call came in at 7:39 a.m. for a construction worker injured by falling debris on Shuman Avenue. The worker was in a scissor lift when a section of concrete wall fell. Fire department crews had to extricate him from the lift before he could be transported for medical treatment.

The worker was taken to Beth Israel Hospital. There is no word yet on the extent of the injuries.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called and is at the scene.

The property was being remodeled. No business is currently operating out of the building.
