Man Pleads Not Guilty in Fatal Fenway Shooting

Prosecutors say Carpenter-Grady was involved in a gunfight outside Who's On First at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 26

A Boston man facing charges in connection with the shooting death of an innocent bystander outside a bar near Fenway Park has been held on $250,000 bail.

Dominique Carpenter-Grady was held Tuesday after pleading not guilty in Suffolk Superior Court to attempted assault and battery and several gun charges in the Thanksgiving morning death of 29-year-old Jephthe Chery.

Prosecutors say Carpenter-Grady was involved in a gunfight outside Who's On First at about 2 a.m. on Nov. 26.

Chery, a commuter rail conductor, had just left the bar and was not involved in the altercation.

Carpenter-Grady's attorney says his client did not fire the fatal shot and did not start the gunfire.

The case remains under investigation.
