Police say one person was hurt and a moose was killed in an early morning crash in Westborough, Massachusetts, involving the animal and three vehicles.
Police tell the Telegram & Gazette that the moose was crossing Route 9 at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday when it was struck in the westbound lanes by a vehicle driven by a 35-year-old Shrewsbury man.
The moose was then struck by a Mack truck and a second car.
Kevin Williams, the driver of the first car that hit the animal, was taken to a Worcester hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life threatening.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene and state officials removed the dead moose.
