Authorities say one of two bodies found in a wooded area of Brockton, Massachusetts, has been positively identified as a 20-year-old woman.
The dismembered remains of Ashley Mylett, a Brockton resident, were discovered this week along with a second set of human remains that investigators said had apparently been there for a much longer period of time.
Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz said Wednesday that the other body has not been identified, but the medical examiner has determined that it was that of a female.
Cruz said in a statement that both deaths remain under investigation but provided no other details.
Police were called to the woods on Sunday and began the search. Investigators have not said who made the call.
