Officials Reminding Mass. Residents to Not Own Gators

Officials in Massachusetts are reminding residents that not all four-legged creatures are welcome in the Commonwealth as pets.

Massachusetts Environmental Police say they had to take an alligator from a private home in Wareham.

Owning any crocodilians, including alligators, crocodiles, caimans and gavials, is illegal in the Bay State.

The alligator is being given to professionals trained in reptile care and rehabilitation, officials said.
