Massachusetts State Police are searching for a suspect who fled from a traffic stop in the town of Danvers.
The incident began when a trooper stopped a car on Route 128 southbound around 9:35 a.m. The male driver was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant. During this time, the male passenger got behind the wheel and sped away.
Police say the motorist ultimately exited 128 off exit 19 in Beverly. The suspect vehicle was later located on Herrick Street near Beverly Hospital.
The Beverly High School was on lock down as a precaution, but that was later lifted as the search for the suspect was suspended due to the high population density of the area.
