Six Flags New England officials closed the Goliath roller coaster due to a cable malfunctioning, according to Mass Live.
Jennifer McGrath, a spokeswoman for Six Flags New England, stated in an email to The Republican, "Earlier today, there was a minor malfunction with a cable on one of our rides."
The cable malfunctioned when the ride was not in operation. After the malfunctioning part is replaced, there will be a thorough safety inspection. Meanwhile, the ride at the Agawam, Massachusetts, amusement park will be closed until further notice.
McGrath said, "Note, at this time we do not have a definitive date on when the attraction will reopen."
According to Six Flags, Goliath peaks at a maximum elevation of 191 feet and maximum speed of roughly 65 mph.
