Teacher Accused of Choking Student Free on Personal Recognizance

School official says she observed teacher straddling student, choking him

A substitute teacher's assistant accused of choking a student is free on personal recognizance.

Stefan Michaud appeared in Fall River District Court on Friday.

Fall River school officials said last week a school resource officer heard a commotion at Talbot Middle School and observed Michaud straddling a student's chest and strangling him.

Michaud has been ordered to stay away from the victim and the school.
