Two satellite trucks on the way to Foxboro, Massachusetts, with broadcast equipment for the Patriots game are stuck in New York because of a heavy snow storm.
The two semi-trucks are stuck at a hotel with broadcasting equipment for the game. The crew is staying at the same hotel as a Weather Channel crew.
Meteorologist Mike Bettes told NECN that depending on how late the truck is stuck, a TV crew may need to make an alternate plan for broadcasting this weekend’s game. The game between the Patriots and the Lions is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.
Truck driver Denise Dunn joined us over the phone to discuss the game plan for getting the trucks to Massachusetts. She said that she does expect to be "rolling shortly."
The crew has told Bettes that they need to get out by Friday to make the game. However, Dunn said that there will be a test Friday morning and that the crew would like to make it to Foxboro by Friday morning.
She said that the trucks are in a hotel parking lot that is expected to be cleared soon and that "we're actually in the best situation we could possibly be in."
The storm has dumped four feet of snow around the state and has been blamed for at least six deaths.
