Man Swimming Near Taylor Swift's House Injured by Boat

A Rhode Island official says a man swimming in the ocean near a beach house owned by singer Taylor Swift has been hit by a boat and seriously injured.

Rayna Maguire of the state Department of Environmental Management says a 56-year-old man was "swimming one-quarter mile off the shore, right outside Taylor Swift's house" Tuesday afternoon when he was hit.

She said she did not have his name and did not know why he was swimming in that spot.

Chief Robert Peacock of the Watch Hill Fire Department said people helped the man to shore. He said the man was bleeding and semi-conscious with non-life-threatening wounds to his back, shoulders and arms and was taken to Westerly Hospital.

Fire officials say the boat left the scene and hasn't been found.
