A trial date has been scheduled for one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects’ friends who is accused of lying to marathon bombing investigators.
Khairullozhon Matanov's jury trial is set to start on June 8, 2015.
Prosecutors say Matanov lied to investigators about the extent of his friendship with Tamerlan Tsarnaev and the contact he had with both Tsarnaev brothers in the days following the bombings.
The Tsarnaev brothers are accused of planting bombs at the 2013 Boston Marathon, killing three people and wounding over 260 individuals.
They say he deleted computer files and tried to get rid of his cell phones when he learned that the Tsarnaev brothers were suspects in the investigation.
Matanov has been denied bail because Magistrate Judge Marianne Bowler says she agrees with prosecutors that Matanov is a flight risk because he has friends and family around the world.
