Vermont State Police say they hope an autopsy will provide some clarity on the death of a five-month-old boy.
Detective Lt. Dan Trudeau tells the Burlington Free Press the boy's uncle was babysitting him in South Royalton when he became unresponsive around 2 a.m. Sunday. South Royalton Rescue tried to resuscitate him as he was being transported to Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.
Trudeau says the Hartland infant died around 3 a.m.
Trudeau says the death remains under investigation. Authorities are waiting for the results of an autopsy from the Office of Vermont's Chief Medical Examiner in Burlington on Monday.
