FAIRLEE, Vt (AP) - Vermont state police say a Florida man is charged with reckless endangerment and cruelty to children after he was clocked driving 100 mph on Interstate 91 with three young children in the car.
Police say 28-year-old Johnny Lopez of Hollywood, Florida, is scheduled to appear in Orange County Court on Monday.
Authorities say police radar captured the vehicle traveling 100 mph in Thetford and Fairlee on I-91 northbound. They say troopers trying to catch up with the vehicle saw it veering in and out of traffic Friday night.
Once stopped, police say they found children ages 7, 6 and 2 months inside the car. They say they also found marijuana in the car
Lopez is also charged with negligent operation. It was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
