The Burlington Free Press reported on Oct. 30 that a University of Vermont sorority was suspended for allegedly posting 'questionable' images to social media.
UVM's Alpha Chi Omega sorority chapter is under review by the chapter's national headquarters for the posts. The images showed sorority members' heads photoshopped onto other pictures, school officials say.
Officials have not released specific details about the post. Pat Brown, the director of student life, would only say that the images "don't represent the values of the organization" and that some of the photos may have contained suggestions of sexism.
This interim suspension could affect the 70 members of UVM's Alpha Iota sorority chapter.
The incident was first reported by the Vermont Cynic, a UVM student news paper. You can read the Burlington Free Press article here.
