Vermont Gubernatorial Hopeful to Launch Campaign

Matt Dunne will make his run official at an event in Barre on Monday

Vermont gubernatorial hopeful Matt Dunne plans to launch his campaign for the Democratic Party nomination at an event in Barre.

Dunne, an executive with Google and a former state senator, is planning an event Monday.

Fellow Democrat Sue Minter is expected to launch her campaign on Tuesday in Waterbury.

House Speaker Shap Smith formally launched his campaign in August.

On the Republican side, Lt. Gov. Phil Scott has also announced he is running, as is businessman Bruce Lisman.

Democratic Gov. Peter Shumlin is not seeking re-election next year.
