Vermont Health Department: 3 More Test Positive for TB

The Vermont Health Department says three more students have tested positive for tuberculosis at the Charlotte Center School.

The results of the latest testing were released Monday by the Health Department.

None of the people who tested positive have developed active TB and there is no risk they can spread the disease.

The Health Department began the tests in January after a school worker was found to have developed an active case of the disease. She is being treated.

So far, a total of 19 children and two adults have tested positive for TB out of 349 students and 84 adults tested from the Charlotte Central School.

An additional 12 adults and 19 children were tested at the Freedom Rains day care in Colchester; none tested positive.
