
A 44-year-old Vermont man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his roommate early Monday morning, authorities said.
St. Albans police responded to 15 Thorpe Ave. at around 5 a.m. after recieving a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police said a man — identified as Rodney Lesperance — met officers at the door and showed them to a bedroom where another man was lying on a blood-soaked bed, bleeding from multiple stab wounds.
The victim received first aid and was sent to an emergency room before he was transported to a medical center, the police said in a statement.

Lesperance told officers the injured man was his rommate and that he was responsible for the injuries, police said.
Lesperance is facing an attempted first-degree murder charge and being held at Northwest State Correctional Facility.
The investigation is ongoing.
