Authorities identify victims of fatal shooting in Braintree

Both the victims were transported to local hospitals where they succumbed to their injuries, according to police.

Authorities are investigating a double homicide in Braintree, Massachusetts early Sunday morning.

Braintree Police say they responded to 911 calls at around 1:30 a.m. reporting shots fired in the area of Alfred Road.

Authorities say they found two people in a car suffering from gunshot wounds within seconds of arriving in the area. A third person in the car was not injured.

Both the victims were transported to local hospitals where they succumbed to their injuries, according to police.

The two victims were identified as 16-year-old Jahzier Porter and 20-year-old Jayden Santos-Andrade, according to authorities.

Porter was a student of Braintree High School. The school will be providing grief counselors to students.

“We shouldn’t lose sight of the fact two families grieving worst days of their lives going to do everything we can to find a resolution to this bring people responsible to justice" said Deputy Police Chief Tim Cohoon.
