The body of a missing Massachusetts boater has been recovered near the site of a fatal incident that happened over the weekend in waters off Fall River, the district attorney said.
The State Police Marine Unit recovered the body of 35-year-old Marc Hanoud on Wednesday, Bristol Country District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said. The Berkley resident was found in 38 feet of water.
"We thank all those agencies involved in the search," Quinn tweeted.
Multiple 911 calls had reported that a boat crashed at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Mount Hope Bay, off the coast of Fall River.
It had appeared two men were ejected when the boat hopped in the wake of another boat and crashed into a large wave at a high speed before capsizing off Spar Island.
The blue powerboat was operated by owner Hanoud, according to the district attorney.
The United States Coast Guard searched more than 83 square miles for Hanoud before suspending its search at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. More than 18 agencies assisted in the search.

Hanoud's passenger, 42-year-old Brent Osborne, of Middleboro, was found in the water by another boater and rushed to shore. Osborne was taken to St. Anne’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation.
