Students at Northeastern University in Boston are on high alert as university police are teaming up with the Boston Police Department to find a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman inside her apartment.
Police are looking for a man they have identified as a "person of interest" in the breaking and entering and indecent assault incident in Boston's South End on Saturday, near Northeastern University.
Officers responded to an apartment near Hemenway Street and Westland Avenue shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday where the victim told police that an unknown male had entered her apartment and indecently assault her.
NBC10 Boston spoke with a friend of the woman who was attacked. He says nothing in life prepares you for a situation like this.
Aidan Wadadawson says the woman who was attacked has lots of friends and family who well support her and help her get through this time.
According to the victim, she screamed and scared the suspect off during the assault.
A search of the area proved unsuccessful, according to police.

In an email advisory to students, the school's police department shared that the victim is not affiliated with the university but that they are working with Boston police to find the person of interest in this case.
"We are going to have an apartment next semester and it's definitely scary to think that could happen to us, but hopefully we'll be safe enough with keys and everything," said student Amelia Hanley.
The suspect was described as having short hair and was last seen wearing a dark-colored shirt, light-colored pants and sneakers.
