A pastor who shot and killed a man who tried to attack him during a service, has been released without charge, Detroit police said, The Associated Press reported.
The 25-year-old man entered Detroit's City of God Church on Sunday and threatened the 36-year-old pastor with a brick, NBC station WDIV reported. The pastor, according to police, was armed with a semi-automatic handgun and fired several shots, killing the man.
Officer Keisha Beasley-Dorsey said no charging decision has been made and declined to discuss case details while the investigation continues, according to the AP.
Police said the man and the pastor, who has not been identified, had a “strained relationship.” The man threatened the pastor previously and recently broke his car window.
