Jayson Tatum downplays wrist injury after scary moment vs. Bucks originally appeared on NBC Sports Boston
Jayson Tatum had Boston Celtics fans panicking when he went down during Saturday's Game 3 in Milwaukee.
The Celtics star took a hard foul from Giannis Antetokounmpo after throwing down a dunk in the second quarter. He stayed on the floor for a few seconds holding his left wrist and writhing in pain before stepping to the free-throw line.

"That's something I've been dealing with for probably like two months now," he said. "It wasn't anything abnormal. When I fell on it, it bothered me. but nothing I haven't been dealing with the last two months."

While it's a good sign Tatum doesn't seem concerned, his performance in Saturday's 103-101 loss wasn't exactly encouraging. He finished with only 10 points -- his lowest total since Nov. 28 -- and shot 4-for-19 from the floor.
Still, he wouldn't use the wrist as an excuse.
"Today was just a one-off. I probably was thinking a little bit too much," Tatum said. "It all comes down to I just gotta make better reads and a lot of times it was for myself today that I passed up. Obviously, I expect to play better and just come in here Monday trying to get a win.
"I'm not going to make it about me or anything like that. I gotta be better. I know that, my teammates know that. I'm sure I will be and we'll make some adjustments to just be a little bit better on Monday."
Tatum and the Celtics now find themselves down 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. They'll aim to even it back up on Monday night's Game 4, which is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET. Coverage begins on NBC Sports Boston with Celtics Pregame Live at 6:30 p.m.
