A police officer was injured when his cruiser was rammed into by a pickup truck when the driver fell asleep behind the wheel, authorities in Nashua, New Hampshire, said.
It happened just before 6 p.m. Thursday on Crown Street just east of Chase Street.
Nashua Police Sgt. Brian Trefry had pulled over to the side of the road at the scene of a different crash when the F250 pickup truck crashed into cruiser, according to police.
Sgt. Trefry had some injuries, but he was able to radio for help and check on the pickup truck driver's condition, who wasn't injured.
Sgt. Trefry was then taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries and then released.
The pickup driver, whose name was not released, has not been charged yet.
The investigation is ongoing.
