Today will bring a flip-flop in weather. While it starts gloomy at the coast, we end up with some sunshine there. Inland we’ll do the opposite, starting with sun and ending with clouds and showers.
An area of low pressure passing offshore starts us off with clouds and fog at the coast today, and even a few spot showers. With time sunshine will break out here, with highs reaching the 60s and 70s.
In Western New England we’ll start with sun, but find increasing clouds and some afternoon showers as a cold front nears. A few thunderstorms are even possible by evening, especially in western Massachusetts and Vermont.
Those hit or miss showers will spread towards the coastline Thursday night.
The front then sweeps offshore, allowing in nice weather on Friday. Highs will reach the 50s and 60s in Northern New England, with 60s to near 70 south.
That front wobbles back into New England on Saturday, providing the focus for periods of rain during the day. It’ll be cool too, with highs in the 50s and 60s.
U.S. & World
Right now it appears as though that band of rain will sag south on Sunday for Mother’s Day. That means while there still may be some early showers, especially far south, much of the day should be dry.
We’ll have to watch that weekend forecast carefully though, so check back for more specifics and updates.
