One man is dead after he was shot Friday night outside of his family's home in Brockton, Massachusetts, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz announced.
Police received a call around 9:05 p.m. for a shooting at 10 Shaw Road.
Responding officers found Marshawn A. Potts, 26, of Brockton, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the driveway. He was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.
Neighbors say flashing blue lights and crime scene tape are not the kind of things you usually find on Shaw Road.
"It's a very nice neighborhood, and it's unusual," said Luke St. Cyr, who has lived there for more than 50 years. "We were shocked at what happened."
St. Cyr and his wife Judie heard the gunshots Friday night.
"We were sitting on the couch, right in the front of the house, and we heard this noise. Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!," Judie St. Cyr said. "Jokingly, I said, 'Do you think it's a gunshot?'"

Investigators have not yet identified a suspect but do not believe this was a random act of violence.
Neighbor Brian Allen says that's not enough to put him at ease.
"The whole street was blocked off," he said. "It's pretty scary."
It's not clear what led to the shooting.
Neighbors say the family who lives at the property where the shooting happened is quiet and friendly.
"My heart breaks for them. Like, I can't even think about it," Julie St. Cyr said. "I can't even imagine what they're going through."
"I just feel bad for his parents," Allen added. "His mother was home when it happened."
Massachusetts State Police dogs were searching around the house Saturday afternoon. No one has been arrested yet.
