The #BringBackOurGirls social media campaign and global rallies to rescue the hundreds of Nigerian schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamist terror group Boko Haram have elevated a national tragedy to an international crisis. But the increased attention and commitment by Washington to send law enforcement assistance to Nigeria could give Boko Haram a propaganda boost. “Terror organizations are political beings, and they’re all about attracting attention and bringing attention to their cause,” one expert told NBC News. “If an act like this brings attention, this is what you have to replicate or top to bring more attention.”
