Officials say one person died and two children saved themselves by jumping from a second-floor window when a fire swept through a home in Livermore Falls.

The state fire marshal's office reports that the single-family home was engulfed by the time firefighters arrived after being summoned shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Officials say two pre-teens living in the home escaped the flames by jumping. One of them was hospitalized after falling to the ground.

    Identities weren't immediately released.
