‘Suspicious' Fire Strikes Brockton Home For 2nd Time in a Year

With the mayor calling the blaze "suspicious," firefighters were on the scene of a Massachusetts home for the second time in a year to battle a two-alarm fire early Wednesday morning.

The fire tore through the Brockton home at 1210 Montello St. around 2:35 a.m. The flames collapsed the entire building as firefighters worked to control the blaze.

A fire had previously struck the home in 2016 and it has since remained unoccupied.

No injuries were reported.

Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter tweeted Wednesday morning that authorities believe the fire appears "suspicious." The incident remains under investigation.
