2 Juveniles Arrested for School Threats, 1 Attacks Sheriff's Deputy

A sheriff's deputy suffered minor injuries taking the older suspect into custody

The Lamoille County, Vermont, sheriff's department says two juveniles are facing charges stemming from threats made at the Laraway School in Johnson.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the school in the Vermont town late Monday morning to investigate reports the juveniles, ages 16 and 14, had made threats against school staff and students.

The names of the juveniles were not released.

The older boy allegedly assaulted the deputies who took him into custody. He's facing a variety of charges, including aggravated disorderly conduct and two counts of assaulting a law enforcement officer.

The younger suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Both were lodged at the Woodside Juvenile Detention Center in Essex.
