(NECN: Julie Loncich, North Attleboro, Mass.) - Authorities returned to former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez's North Attleboro, Mass. mansion Thursday evening.
The agencies were Boston and North Attleboro police and included plainclothes detectives.
It was learned Thursday that Boston police are investigating whether Hernandez is connected to a July 2012 double homicide in the city.
Police arrived shortly before 8 p.m., and they say it's part of an active investigation - an investigation that may link the 23 year old back to a double homicide last summer.
The former Patriot is still locked up at the Bristol County House of Corrections, after a judge denied him bail for a second time Thursday, but the investigation around him and Odin Lloyd's murder is certainly far from over.
In Connecticut, a second suspect was arrested in connection to the Dorchester man's death. Authorities have charged Carlos Ortiz with fugitive from justice.
Authorities wouldn't comment on Ortiz's involvement with the alleged crime, but his bail was set at $1.5 million.

In Bristol, Conn., according to WFSB, authorities searched the home of Hernandez's uncle. There is no word on what - if anything - was found there.
Meanwhile, in Franklin, Mass., additional search warrants were executed. Detectives removed items from unit 12 at the Ledgewood Condo Complex and towed a Hummer.
In court Thursday, it was learned that investigators recovered a Glock .45 magazine clip inside that Hummer. The missing murder weapon is believed to be a Glock.
Neighbors at that complex say Hernandez and another man leased unit 12 back in May, although they say Hernandez was only seen a few times, always wearing a hoodie.
As of 10 p.m. Thursday, police were not bringing anything out of Hernandez's North Attleboro mansion. It is unclear right now whether or not Hernandez's fiancee and his infant child are inside.
