(NECN) - The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is expected to announce recipients of medical marijuana dispensary licenses Thursday.
About 100 applications were submitted to DPH and roughly 14 to 35 licenses will be issued.
Doctor Kevin Hill, assistant professor of psychiatry at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School joined us for more on the subject.
Hill said there was an extensive application process, including proving the business had more than $500,000 and a plan to handle and dispense the marijuana.
He said that the goal will be to have one for each of the 14 counties in Massachusetts, but 35 in total. He said that more may be distributed as needed.
