Investigating the Family of the Boston Bombing Suspects

(NECN) - Professor Herman Dutch Leonard from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government joined NECN to discuss the latest details in the Boston Marathon bombings.

He said that it’s too easy to be hard on the FBI at this point. The U.S. received information from Russia that the Tsarnaev brothers might have been a potential threat. But when the FBI checked and proved there was no threat to Russia, there weren’t red flags.

He says that the father’s recent decision to not come to the U.S. isn’t something which can be read into deeply yet.

“There’s so much confusion in that family about what happened and who these characters are and what their relationships are,” said Leonard.
