Four people could be seen in handcuffs and surrounded by law enforcement during a traffic stop in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood after someone in the car they were in was apparently firing shots out of the window.

Massachusetts State Police say the four were traveling on Route 24 near the exit to Route 139 in the Stoughton area when the incident happened around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspects, all between the ages of 18 and 21, tell investigators they had just purchased pellet guns from Dick's Sporting Goods, and one of the men fired four shots into the air to test it out.

The driver was eventually pulled over by police at Dudley Street in the Upham's Corner area after 911 calls came in from other drivers.
