    8-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Zip Line Accident at Maine Campground

    A young boy was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon in a zip line accident at a campground in Winslow, Maine.

    Police said the 8-year-old was using a zip line at Camp Caribou when he slipped off and hit his head on a metal rowboat.

    The boy was taken to Maine General in Augusta by ambulance, then by medical helicopter to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Authorities said he is recovering with non-life threatening injuries.

    Police said due to the zip line being classified as a mechanical ride in Maine, the Maine Fire Marshal’s Office was notified to investigate.

    A 4-year-old girl was left alone inside a minivan overnight in a Milwaukee tow lot, authorities said. An impaired driver was pulled over and arrested for operating while intoxicated. Officers removed a 10-month-old child from the vehicle but left the 4-year-old girl, who spent the night in the tow lot where temperatures dropped to 19 degrees.
