If you’re in the Boston area on Saturday and are looking to use a bike for the day, you can grab one for free.

Bluebikes, the city’s public bike-share program, is offering free, two-hour rides all day, thanks to a partnership with outdoor retailer REI.

Riders in the Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville areas will have access to the “adventure pass,” which is intended to encourage people to get outside and enjoy summer.

If you grab a bike and aren’t sure where to start on your urban adventure, REI also composed a Boston outdoor activities guide to help you tap into the city's vast outdor spaces.

Currently, 85 percent of Boston residents are within a 5-7 minute walk from a Bluebikes station. The program boasts more than 2,500 bikes and nearly 300 stations.

Last year, there were 1.7 million trips taken by Bluebikes, which was a new record for the system. Higher ridership is expected in 2019, with Bluebikes riders regularly surpassing over 10,000 daily trips this summer.

Since launching in 2011, 8.5 million trips have been taken on bike share, including more than 1.2 million trips to date in 2019.
