Woman's Body Found in Charles River

A woman's body was found in the Charles River on Friday morning.

The Massachusetts State Police Marine Unit is currently on the scene in Cambridge. A boater spotted the body around 6:50 a.m. in the area of the Harvard Bridge, which carries Massachusetts Avenue across the river.

The Suffolk District Attorney's office said the body is believed to be that of a woman in her 30s. Investigators have a tentative identification, but said the woman's name won't be released unless it is believed to be a result of criminal conduct.

Officials are working to determine a cause of death, but officials say there were no obvious signs of trauma.
