Body and Flipped ATV Found in Maine Lake Where Ice Was Thin

Maine Game Wardens have recovered the body of a man from a North Belgrade lake.

The Portland Press Herald reports teams of divers had been searching the area since 8 a.m. on Monday and found the body in Salmon Lake. Police did not immediately identify the man.

Divers pulled the man from the lake just before 11 a.m. Authorities also found an all-terrain vehicle upside-down in the lake.

The ice on the lake was only about six inches thick. The lake is part of the Belgrade Lakes chain along the border of Belgrade and Oakland.
