Celtics Fans Disappointed by Game 7 Loss

The Celtics wrapped up a stellar season with a loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, leaving many Celtics fans feeling disappointed.

Sunday's game marked the first time in the team's history to blow a 2-0 lead in a best of 7-game series.

The Celtics headed into Game 7 of the Eastern Conferencee Finals with a 10-0 record at home in this year’s playoffs. Despite the momentum, the Celtics lost Sunday night's home game 87-79 to the Cavaliers, who have now clinched a spot in the NBA Finals.

LeBron James, of the Cavaliers, earned his eighth-straight trip to the Finals by posting yet another monster game, ending the night with 35 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists.

Not everyone outside the TD Garden Sunday night was disappointed at the loss.

"I think it was amazing. Game 7, in Boston. Fourth quarter and LeBron showed up," one Cavaliers fan told NBC 10 Boston.

Some downtrodden Celtics fans acknowledged James’ effort leading his team the entire series.

"He played unbelievable," a Celtics fan said. "Greatest player I’ve been alive to see."

Fans that helped motivate the team to win 10 straight home playoff games this year have begun looking ahead for next fall.

"Next season it's ours though," another Celtics fan said. "We got it, we got the whole ship."
