Although Tuesday’s air is slightly more humid than Monday’s, Cape Cod and the South Coast are the only places in New England that have seen a return of deeper humidity.

The air is about to change for more of us as a southerly wind aligns deep through the atmosphere, ushering deeper warmth and humidity up the Eastern Seaboard and into New England. Ahead of the push of deep summer warmth and humidity, clouds are mixing with our sun today and a few sprinkles are popping up over the mountains and lakes of Northern New England.

By Wednesday morning, scattered showers will be developing across Southern New England, marking the arrival of the new air, and will develop northward over the course of the morning and midday. It will eventually settle away from the coast by afternoon as thunder develops within the scattered showers.

By Wednesday afternoon, nearly all of us will be in the humid air, marking the return of deep summer air that will linger all the way through the first half of next week. Highs will be ranging from the mid-80s to lower 90s with an increased chance of scattered thunder on each day.

However, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday appear to have a lower chance of thunder than the other days. Summer weather runs uninterrupted through the entirety of our exclusive Early Warning Weather 10-day forecast.
