River Street in the Hyde Park section of Boston was shut down during the afternoon commute Thursday as police responded to crash involving a minivan with multiple children on board.
The accident happened near the intersection of River Street and Huntington Avenue just after 4 p.m. Thursday.
Eyewitnesses said they say at least a half dozen young children be taken out of the van and transported to the hospital.
"I saw blood running down a little girl's face. I didn't know if there was glass on her face, but for a little kid to go through that, it's tragic," neighbor Jose Herraez said.
NBC10 Boston obtained surveillance video from a nearby business that shows the minivan swerving to get out of the way of another vehicle.
Boston Police said the injuries were minor. River Street re-opened just after 6 p.m. Thursday. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
