Dartmouth College has announced a series of policies aimed at creating a learning environment that is free of sexual harassment and abuse of power.

Dartmouth President Philip Hanlon said Thursday that the policy will include an outside review of all departments, revising its sexual misconduct policy, and establishing mandatory training on Title IX, the federal law barring gender discrimination among other changes.

The announcement comes nearly two months after seven current and former students sued the Ivy League college, accusing it of ignoring years of harassment and assault by former faculty members in the psychology department.

College officials deny ignoring the complaints. Hanlon said that he regrets the existence of an environment at odds with Dartmouth's values.

[NATL] New Study Says Beards are 'Dirtier' Than Dogs

A recent study suggests that a man's beard contains more germs than a dog's fur. All 18 men's beards studied by researchers at Switzerland's Hirslanden Clinic had higher levels of bacteria in them, compared to only 23 out of 30 dogs. Some beards had so much beard bacteria the men could get sick, the study says.
