RAW VIDEO: Aerial Footage of a White Shark Off Cape Cod

NBC10 Boston's Sky Ranger was over a great white shark off Long Nook Beach in Cape Cod on Wednesday, showing how close the shark was to the beach. The footage was recorded less than two hours after a man was bitten by a shark in the same area. It has not been determined if this is the same shark that attacked the man.

A dead great white shark washed up on the shores of Truro, Massachusetts, on Thursday morning.

According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, the dead shark, estimated to be about 9-feet long, was found in Pamet Harbor.

Researchers with the Division of Marine Fisheries and Northeast Fisheries Science Center have been called in to take samples to figure out how the shark died.

Swimming has been prohibited in Truro waters due to a number of shark sightings and since a man was bitten by a great white last week. The 61-year-old victim from New York, who suffered deep puncture wounds, has since been upgraded to good condition.
