Dolphins Rescued After Being Stranded in Wellfleet, Massachusetts

16 dolphins were stranded on Thursday

Members of the International Fund for Animal Welfare rescued numerous dolphins who were stranded in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, on Thursday.

According to the IFAW, a report came in for dolphins stranded on Chequesset Neck Road in Wellfleet.

Once officials arrived on scene they found 16 dolphins stranded.

They called in additional teams and were assisted by volunteers on the beach and able to rescue the dolphins.

The agency needed to use two trips and two trailers to rescue all the dolphins.

All were brought to Barnstable and released back into the ocean.

One additional dolphin was rescued on Friay morning and brought back to the ocean.

All of the dolphins survived and none were injured.

This as the largest rescue by the IFAW in one day.
