Friday Morning Car Crash on I-93 Causes Hours-Long Backup

A driver asleep at the wheel caused a car crash on I-93 in Londonderry Friday morning, New Hampshire State Police said in a statement.

The crash occured at approximately 7 a.m. when a 30-year-old driver from Hartford, Connecticut, was driving northbound on the interstate. After reportedly falling asleep, his car went off the road into an active construction zone and hit a parked dump truck that was occupied by a Salem, New Hampshire man. Rodriguez's vehicle then struck a second unoccupied vehicle parked in the construction zone before coming to a final stop.

There were no injuries reported as a result of the crash, but the high speed lane of I-93 was shut down for several hours afterwards.
