    A Massachusetts town announces that schools will close early on Tuesday and Wednesday because of extreme heat.

    Haverhill Public Schools said Saturday that all students will have early dismissal because of the extreme heat conditions forecast for the coming week.

    Haverhill High School will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m., Middle Schools, Consentino and Hunking will be dismissed at 11:05 a.m. and Elementary Schools will be dismissed at 11:35 a.m. both days.

    The site says that YMCA programs will operate in schools as planned immediately following the close of the school day.

    A 4-year-old girl was left alone inside a minivan overnight in a Milwaukee tow lot, authorities said. An impaired driver was pulled over and arrested for operating while intoxicated. Officers removed a 10-month-old child from the vehicle but left the 4-year-old girl, who spent the night in the tow lot where temperatures dropped to 19 degrees.
