A Massachusetts man was arrested Friday after he allegedly punched and kicked another man at an MBTA Commuter Rail Station, according to Transit Police.

Police said they received a call at about 6 p.m. of an assault and responded to the Hollbrook/Randolph station. There, a 21-year-old victim told authorities that he was nearly hit by an SUV when he was crossing Union Street in the crosswalk. The victim allegedly extended his middle finger to the driver and continued heading toward the station’s parking lot.

In the parking lot, the victim noticed the driver, later identified as 55-year-old Robert Scott, of Holbrook, had pulled into the area and was approaching him. Scott then allegedly punched and kicked the victim before fleeing the scene in his vehicle.

Officers were able to locate the suspect at his home after the victim provided the alleged attacker’s registration number.

Scott faces a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment on Monday. Bail was set at $750, with the condition that he stay away from the victim. He is due back in court on Nov. 6 for a pre-trial conference.
