Humid and very warm temperatures will be on tap this Sunday, with highs in the 80s to near 90 degrees.

Some breaks in the clouds this afternoon will add fuel to the fire, triggering a new round of isolated showers and storms. The best place to be, to stay rain-free, will be the Cape and the Islands.

A line of storms will move into western New York this evening and as it moves east, western New England could get some strong storms with a chance for damaging wind and lightning. As this line of showers and storms gets closer to Worcester county, it won’t be as intense, and storms will fizzle out overnight.

Fog will form again along the coast but, like most days, the sun will burn through, and we end up under a mostly sunny sky before a cold front approaches and brings a round of showers and storms during the afternoon. This front won’t get rid of the humidity, but at least Tuesday is a partly sunny day with no risk for rain. Highs will range between 85 to 92 degrees and it will feel closer to the mid-90s.

A second, more potent cold front gets closer to New England on Wednesday and brings widespread showers and storms over the region.

Our First Alert 10-day Forecast indicates a refreshing air mass arriving just in time for next weekend.
