The remnants of Alberto moved into south-central Ontario yesterday, pulling a plume of tropical humidity up the East Coast and into New England this morning.

There are also several rather subtle weather fronts, the combination of all these things will generate a few showers or thunderstorms the next 24 hours.

The day starts off mild and muggy with temperatures in the 60s to near 70 degrees. Patchy dense fog gradually lifts once again. This afternoon features a lot of clouds with spot showers or thunderstorms, we could have some locally heavy rain but most of us are not going to get any rain at all. High temperature well into the 80s.

The good news for the weekend it looks like high pressure comes into southeastern Canada pushing a cold front off our south coast early tomorrow.

So although the day may start on the gray side in southern New England, with a few rain showers in Massachusetts and Connecticut, it looks like sunshine across northern New England may spread south for the afternoon.

High temperatures will be in the 60s to lower 70s with much less humidity.

High pressure should bring sunshine for our Sunday with the temperature in the 60s lower 70s, the exception may be along the south coast where clouds and showers may linger.

Then on Monday, a storm to our south starts to intensify and expand.

By Tuesday, we may have a strengthening low-pressure system south of Nantucket generating what looks like an early June nor'easter potential for next week.

There is still much fine-tuning to do, but we may have a significant rain and cool weather event for a few days next week.
